We departed from Karawaci of the Jakarta by car for almost 1 hour to Merak Harbor, Cilegon. After purchasing Ferry tickets, our vehicle entered the ship. We climbed to the top while enjoying the vastness of the Sunda Strait stretching from Merak Harbor to Bakauheuni Harbor, Lampung.
Upon arrival in Bakauheuni we continued our journey to the city of Tanjung Karang, and stayed overnight at the Ina Hotel, Tanjung Karang, Lampung. While we were in Tanjung Karang, we took advantage of the evening City Tour to visit Bandar Lampung Square.
In the morning at around 5.31 we immediately continued our journey to Kiluan Bay, taking approximately 2 hours. Some of the roads we were on at that time were smooth, and some were still bumpy. We passed through a transmigration residential area that had been around for decades. Also passing through the Danlanan TNI AL complex area [Navy Military], we also saw several temples which were most likely built by transmigrants from Bali.
Arriving at Kiluan Bay, we rested for a while while eating breakfast that we brought from the hotel, because we wanted to just pack breakfast because we were going to continue our journey. Not bad for filling your stomach during the trip to Kiluan Bay. Oh yes, on the trip we also saw a small island tourist area, the name is Pahawang Island.
Kiluan Bay is a bay in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung with marine tourism potential and is famous for its many dolphins and whales. Kiluan Bay is also famous as a natural tourist attraction and snorkeling. The location is 73 km from Lampung Airport and can be reached in 3 hours by car.
After breakfast, we were immediately taken by a local tour guide using a small boat to see the dolphins on the beach interacting with each other without being asked to come to the surface. For more than 3 minutes we enjoyed the movement of dolphins appearing.
Next we pulled over to Kulian Island to start snorkeling to the beach. The beach is clean, you can see a variety of biodiversity at the bottom of the clear beach. But you also have to be careful because there are parts of the fast current. We snorkeled for almost 2 hours, then we were taken back to the beach to rest and wait for lunch which had been prepared by the homestay accommodation.
After lunch, rest for a while. Then continue with a walking tour to the lagoon pool for bathing. The lagoon pool was formed because it is surrounded by rocks on the edge of the beach. To get there we had to walk and climb a hill which made our feet sore. We spent 1 hour swimming in the lagoon pool.
After showering we rested, and then got ready for the journey home.
