In general, the higher the education level of tourists, the more likely they are to have more complex needs and desires when traveling. They tend to choose tourist destinations that offer diverse experiences, such as cultural tourism, historical tourism, or unique natural environments. In addition, educated tourists also pay more attention to factors such as environmental quality, sustainability, and the availability of facilities and services that meet certain standards when choosing a tourist destination.
The tourist destinations in Pantai Mutun itself tend to be less diverse or do not have adequate environmental quality, which may be less attractive to more educated tourists. This can result in a decrease in the number of tourist visits to the Pantai Mutun tourism area. Therefore, the local government or tourism area managers must continue to pay attention to or improve the environmental quality of the tourism area and provide diverse services and entertainment so that tourists can have a maximum experience when visiting the Pantai Mutun tourism area.
Research that is in line with these results was conducted by Lestari and Dewanti (2019), which explains in their study that the education level of tourists does not have a significant influence on the level of tourist visits to the Kalibiru Natural Tourism Object in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta.
Research with similar results was also conducted by Sukwika and Rahmatullah (2021), where their study explained that the education level of tourists does not affect the level of visits to Situ Gunung Sukabumi Nature Park.
Another study conducted by Kartini and Widodo (2020) aimed to analyze the factors influencing tourist visits to natural tourist destinations. This research was conducted in Kebumen Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, where the research results showed that the education variable does not have a significant effect on tourist visits to natural tourist destinations in Kebumen Regency. This means that education is not the main factor influencing tourists' decision to visit the tourist destination.
The education level does not have a significant influence on the number of tourist visits because tourist visits are not solely based on their education. There are many factors that influence a person's decision to travel, such as interests, culture, purchasing power, and the need to relax. Furthermore, there might be other factors that have a greater impact on tourist visits, such as accessibility, facilities, pricing, and promotions.
